This is it, as techno-savvy as we get. As we prepare to get married, actually do it, and then travel for a year you can be with us every step of the way. Isn't that lovely?

Hedonistic Bali

We have traded in the political and historical meanderings of SE Asia for the hedonism of Bali and have been lazily baking our bodies on the beaches for the last several days. Parts of Bali are lovely though others not at all what I expected with resorts spralling everywhere, trinket shops, topless European women laying beside a hindu festival, and an endless expanse of tourists. Tonight we will take in the Balinese New Year and then on New Year's day we will be required to stay in our hotel for the entire day. "silent day" the locals keep saying. I am sure this will produce a quality blog.
Our life here aside, I want to encourage everyone to get out this weekend to join in the protests against American Foriegn Policy and the Iraq War. This weekend marks our fourth year of military action in Iraq. Protests have ensued in every country Bush visited during his current S. and Central American tour. I hope that he is welcomed home with same response from the American public. Please help to be our voice while we are away. You can go to www.unitedforpeace.org to find out about a protest near you. But here are a few options..... For those in PA there will be a local rally downtown at Noon today and then in Seattle on Sunday at Noon. In Portland there will be a Protest on Sunday at 1:30 in front of Pioneer Court House Square. Maybe baby stewart can partake in his first protest of his little life. IN San Fran there are at least a dozen options. In Michigan 11 cities will host including Ann Arbor on Saturday. In Norfolk VI you can visit Sen. Johb Warrens office at 3PM on Monday March 19th. Please post a comment if you made it out to the streets. It will be great to know of all those reading this blog who are of the same sentiment.

We made it to a demonstration this weekend in Eureka, CA! (Actually, Erik made another one in Arcata too, and made it in the paper...)
Thanks for reminding us that it's our duty to stand up for what we think is right (or wrong in this case...)
