This is it, as techno-savvy as we get. As we prepare to get married, actually do it, and then travel for a year you can be with us every step of the way. Isn't that lovely?

A weekend at the cape...

A weekend on the cape.

After leaving Sargent Camp we made for Cape Cod, arriving in Yarmouth, to Rosie Perara’s family place, around 10 pm on Friday. The site in the morning literally took our breath away – a beautiful house on the shore, with a dock, sailboats. Unable to believe our luck, we none-the-less dug in to everything offered in the area. We went for a sail (Christine's first - see photo!), swimming, kayaked out to a beautiful beach, rode our bikes around the town, learned about Rosie’s family’s long history in the area (Rosie’s great-grandfather’s wife was a Thacher AND, as it turns out, the Thacher’s were one of Yarmouth’s founding families) AND ate a great deal of Rosie’s famous home-made ice cream.

We also had the opportunity to spend time with Rosie’s family that we’ve heard a great many stories about – her parents Ron and Jay and her sister Katie, bro-in-law Mike and nephews Michael and Adam. A wonderful family that we enjoyed immensely.

And finally, on Sunday, we loaded the bikes and drove west along the Cape to visit Woods Hole in preparation for Ian’s Monday meeting in Boston with the MIT/Woods Hole Joint Program.

The area is rich in many ways and we had a great visit…

Ian

Now why is Rosie hiding behind the menu? Glad to see you guys are having fun. Will our time on the oregon coast coincide with your bike trip? There'll be an extra bed!
